Wow; it’s been a long time since I’ve been around here. Time flies when you’re havin’ fun :) Here’s two little ditties from my Father’s Day outing to the Tigard Festival of Balloons.
It seems like every so often a drive down the Columbia River Gorge sounds like a sure bet for good photos (and a nice hike!). No matter the weather, there are always beautiful scenes to shoot.

I’d have to say that this is probably my most successful HDR endeavor to date. I’m finally getting the hang of properly bracketing to capture the entire tonal range of the image, and then blending and toning the final product.

Another attempt at hand held exposure bracketing for HDR - The Deschutes River as it runs through Bend, OR. Some Orton thrown in, to boot.
I guess I would consider this my first “successful” HDR image. I have still have ALOT to learn, but I successfully combined three exposures (hand held!) and did an *ok* job toning. I also had a fun tram ride up the hill with my son!

Taken from the top of Mt. Paulina, in Bend, OR. A huge lava flow sits between two lakes at the foot of the Volcano. You barely see a little line atop the flow, which is a freeway. The lava was about 20′ - 30′ high.
The (almost?) full moon and partly cloudy skies teamed up last night for some pretty sweet landscapes. The fisheye lens added a nice “bendy” effect too
