Nature’s Door

Had an incredible family vacation this week to Whistler, B.C. for some snowboarding and relaxation.  The camera(s) got a good workout, and I’m just now finding some time to go back and see what I got.  I found some good shots from both the Canon 40D around the house / lodge, and also from the Canon SD870 from up on the mountain.  Here are a few HDRs to kick off the set:

This first one was a little tricky given the fact I forgot my tripod.  I had a small “camping” clamp on version, which I had to prop up on an electrical transformer box (which was surrounded by deep snow).  After climbing on and pointing the camera in the approximate direction, I got this:

Tigard Festival of Balloons

Wow; it’s been a long time since I’ve been around here.  Time flies when you’re havin’ fun :)   Here’s two little ditties from my Father’s Day outing to the Tigard Festival of Balloons.

Portland Cityscape HDR

I’d have to say that this is probably my most successful HDR endeavor to date.  I’m finally getting the hang of properly bracketing to capture the entire tonal range of the image, and then blending and toning the final product.

Little Giraffe

This little guy is not too happy to be sporting a Giraffe Uniform right now – But there’s been talk of free candy. Some chances are worth taking :) Halloween night at Bridgeport.

Moonlit Sky

The (almost?) full moon and partly cloudy skies teamed up last night for some pretty sweet landscapes.  The fisheye lens added a nice “bendy” effect too ;)
