Fall Leaves

I’ve been dying to get out and shoot some photos of the fall leaves, but it just never seems to happen!  Here’s one out the living room window ..

Harvest Moon

The moon was CRAZY orange last night, in case you didn’t notice :) IMO, this was much more spectacular than the Lunar Eclipse we had not too long ago.

Harvest Moon

update - found some info on the FOX12 Weather Blog about the moon last night:

Many of our viewers have been writing, wondering about the freakishly red full Harvest Moon.  It’s due to smoke from the Rattle Fire, near Diamond Lake in S.W. Oregon.  The flow in the upper atmosphere has turned southeasterly, sending a surge of smoke north.  The flow stays generally the same way through Wednesday, so I think we have a smoky/hazy day on the way again for tomorrow.

Haystack Rock

Decided to take a trip to the Oregon coast for my birthday. One of my favorite stops to make is always Ecola State Park. The drive from the entrance to the lookout is incredible. You drive down a narrow windy road that is so lush and dense with foliage that you can’t see the sky, or more than 20 feet in any direction. When you come out of the forest, you are atop cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

This was actually a bright and sunny sky, with the remains of the morning fog lingering over the coastline, and out to Haystack Rock. This is a stitched panorama from 3 or 4 shots.
