Had an opportunity this past weekend to get out of town and take a drive in the ol Vette.� After many trips up the mountain in deep snow to hit the resort for a little snowboarding, I always thought it would be a GREAT trip on a sunny day in a fast car.� I was right! We arrived in the parking lot for Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood just as a huge weather front was moving over the mountain, and large dark clouds rolling overhead cut the photoshoot to a few quick snaps.

Here’s another attempt at Mt. Hood (+) Coumbia River Marina (+) Sunset (-) shooting from a moving car.  Besides having my polarizing filter, I’m not sure it’s really that much better .  It did require far less Photoshop finess though ..

As we drive around / over mount hood – the first picture was taken from ~Damascas (west of the mountain), while the last was taken from the highway between Mt. Hood and Sunriver (east of the mountain).

I usually don’t recommend photography from a vehicle going down the freeway, but you never know what might happen ;).

There is a trail right off Hwy 26 in the Mt. Hood National Forrest where you can hike up to a GREAT view of Mirror Lake and Mt. Hood.  Here’s Brian chillin’ at the top taking in the view:
